Position Responsibilities
As an essential member of our teaching team, you’ll help keep our days running smoothly and ensure children receive the care and attention they deserve. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing lunch‑break coverage so teachers can recharge
  • Assisting classroom teachers in meeting children’s daily needs with patience and care
  • Supporting daily cleaning routines and helping with laundry to maintain a healthy environment
  • Stepping in to cover staff absences and keep classrooms running seamlessly
  • Helping organize supplies, restock materials, and maintain an orderly, well‑prepared space


Preferred Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Meet one of the following early childhood education requirements:
Acceptable Credential or Coursework Options
  • Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate, or
  • Current Child Development Associate (CDA) plus at least 12 months of experience working with children in grade 3 or younger, or
  • State Board of Education–approved Human Services Program Certificate with a focus on child development or early childhood education plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger, or
  • Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger, or
  • Successful completion of a 3‑credit college course in child development, human development, or school‑age care and education plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger
